NEW TRUCKS DESCEND ON WEMBLEY STADIUM FOR RACE OF CHAMPIONS
Eve Trakway was given its starting orders as the company rolled out its new £1 million fleet of lorries at Wembley Stadium, to lay the pitch for the Race of Champions.
This will be the fourth time leading temporary supplier of access products Eve Trakway has been involved with laying the 1km long parallel race track. The track, for which the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher have used to drive to victory, calls for 1,200 of Eve Trakway’s temporary access panels, 2,200 tonnes of underlay and 1,800 tonnes of tarmac.
The lorries used to help create the foundations for the Race of Champions are on their first big outing following Eve Trakway’s decision to expand its fleet. Costing £100,000 each, the 10 new Scania R410 lorries, complete with Atlas cranes and Transweld flatbed bodies, will transport and lay Eve Trakway’s temporary access solutions to customers throughout the UK from depot’s in Lanark, Chesterfield and London.
Logistic Manager Andrew Rushforth, purchaser and co-ordinator of the new fleet, says: “It is very exciting to see the new lorries on their first major outing. This is a lasting investment in state-of-the-art vehicles, which are generally more comfortable for the drivers with larger cabs, more environmentally friendly and have lower fuel consumption than the older vehicles.
