‘EVESECURE’ FORTY FIVE YEAR HISTORY WITH THE NATIONAL GRID IN LATEST PROJECT
Having first starting working with the National Grid to provide temporary access solutions when the firm was first established in the 1960s, Eve has retained working with the organisation throughout and now, thanks to its latest projects with the Electricity Alliances, sees it offering expand in the provision of on site security with its new service, EveSecure.
Appointed as sub contractors with the both the East and West Electricity Alliances in a three year agreement, Eve has not only been supplying sites of planned utility works with its aluminium and plastic temporary access trakway, but also its cutting edge product, EveSecure to enable cost efficiencies and also increase on site security.
The product was created to meet the needs of Eve’s clients, including the Alliances to improve security procedures, an issue which has recently be further forced under the spot light as it’s estimated site theft costs the industry as much as £1.6 million every day. In addition to protecting sites from theft, EveSecure was also developed to prevent health and safety incidents from intrusion and to increase cost efficiencies with the reduction of excessive man power.
EveSecure employs freestanding, perimeter digital sensors which detect intruders from body heat and by sensing movement and vibration. Tamper proof, if either the sensors or the power supplier is interfered with an automotive alarm is activated which is run in line with a global positioning satellite (GPS) and supported with a patrolling, fully licensed Eve mobile response team.
Trialled initially in The Electricity Alliance West region with great success, EveSecure has now been adopted in the East region from Newcastle up to the Scottish boarders for it’s planned overhead line service and engineering works and as a result of the new security measures there hasn’t been a single theft from site and the cost of security has been reduced significantly compared to using static guards.
Commenting on the long standing relationship the company has forged to retain work on behalf of the National Grid and its Alliances, managing director of Eve, Rick Barnett says: “Whilst we’re widely regarded for our work within the events industry, less people are aware of the long standing contracts we hold within the construction and utilities industries, but it is these which have really shaped our service expansion and innovation with products such as EveSecure.
“It is this which we strongly believe has been the reason why we’ve been able to work with organisations, such as the National Grid and the respective Alliances, for such a significant number of years.”
